BeeCraft magazine came to Digital Nachos wanting to build a new subscriber database which could then integrate with their new website, ecommerce store and various 3rd party providers.
Due to the size of the project, and tight timeframe, the proposed work was planned in phases to allow the team at BeeCraft to continue running the magazine with minimal distruption. The first phase of this project was the subscriber database itself. This involved modernising the previous subscriber database and its functions, as well as introducing new elements to ensure that BeeCraft was up to date with the latest GDPR regulations.
Following on from the subscriber database aspect of the project, Digtal Nachos emabrked on updating BeeCraft's existing website in terms of both design and user experience. We moved the website and the ecommerce store from their existing WordPress platform to a bespoke solution which would be tailored for their business needs. This gave us the flexibility to build each and every function to their exact specifications.
As part of the design we took into account the fact that the target audience for the new website would encompass people from all over the world and of all different ages and technical knowledge. This presented some interesting design challenges which were overcome by some unique solutions.
The final elements of the website introduction was launched at the start of December 2018. Ongoing we are able to support BeeCraft as they continue to grow and expand their magazine offering.
Since the new website went live BeeCraft has experienced several benefits. These included a dramatic drop in their bounce rate and an award for website from an international beekeeping organisation. Further information on how a webiste redesign saw a dramatic drop in their bounce rate and more can be found on our blog post here.
Here is what BeeCraft have said themselves about their new website and subscriber database.
Digital Nachos really took the time to understand our needs and what BeeCraft Magazine wanted our website to achieve. They kept us updated and informed throughout the design and development process which made the whole process efficient and stress free.
- Carolyne Liston, BeeCraft Director of Subscriber Database
The website launched in time for our centenary year, providing us with a fantastic website as we head into our second centenary. We would recommend Digital Nachos and look forward to a continued relationship with them.
