If you have seen the hype leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and have decided to join in, check out our guide below.
Step 1: Work with what you have
Given that the official Black Friday is just nine days away, let’s work with what we have.
Check your website out, ensuring that key information is there and easy to find. Information such as your current contact details and any delivery information, including prices and typical delivery times
Once this done, create any graphics and content needed to highlight your chosen Black Friday offer/s. Get them up on site pronto – or make a note to put them live on Black Friday.
Do the same for any social media platforms that you may have – check the key information and get graphics/content created and live.
If you have a mailing list, do the same.
Step 2: Highlight your Black Friday Sale
Ensure that there is a steady stream of Black Friday social postings and emails going out to your current followers and mailing list.
Getting the balance between highlighting offers and spamming your customers, especially if you do very little promotion on social media/email marketing normally, is key.
Step 3: Live up to Expectations
Ensure that every single customer has a positive interaction with your business during this period. This keeps the stress of the holiday shopping to a minimum for them and increases the likelihood that they will return as customers at a later date.
If your site has a live chat feature then ensure that its operational during key hours at the very least. Ease of communication may be all it takes for a customer to buy from you instead of a competitor.
Step 4: Plan Ahead for Next Year
Make a note in your calendar to get started with the Black Friday and Cyber Monday prep earlier in the year. This will allow you to maximise the results from your efforts.
Focusing on improving your site, increasing your social media use and followers, making better use of email marketing, and even going as far as introducing and improving features such as live chat on your website.
Having a plan as you go into the pre-Christmas season will help you get the most out of your marketing efforts.
