It may be early days, and we definitely have no wish to see the arrival of winter, for us in the marketing world our plans and prep for the Christmas period are underway.

To help you make the most of the Christmas period this year, simply follow our steps below.

Step 1: Review

Grab a notebook and a coffee (or your drink of choice) and let’s take a look at where your online appearance and marketing is now.

On your website – check all of your contact details, opening hours, and key selling information such as your delivery page are correct.

Take a look at your sales message, any calls to actions, and the imagery used. Are they showcasing your business how you wish to be shown? Do you plan on any Christmassy images to be included? If so, when will they be taken and what images do you need.

On your social platforms – check all of your contact details, opening hours, and any links to your website or other social channels are showing correctly.

Take a look at recent social posts, and even your social posts from last Christmas, and question whether they were the best you can do. What do you what to showcase this Christmas?

On your business listings – again, check all of your contact details, opening hours, and any links to your website or other social channels are showing correctly.

Are their gaps in the information? Could better imagery be used? Are your opening hours in the run up to Christmas changing? If you know this already then update your Google my Business profile, if you don’t then mark a date in your calendar to ensure that you update your profile accordingly.

And finally, check your analytics tools – such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console – to see how your site is currently performing. Are there weak spots?

Step 2: Plan

Look through your review, pick three simple things that must be done/changed and action those immediately.

Pat yourself on the back, then think about your forward plan.

This might be to improve your imagery, introduce a page to your site that answers a question that your customers may have, or even to start posting on social media more regularly.

Whatever it is – think about how to make it happen, or at least how to get the ball rolling, before the Christmas countdown.

Step 3: Action

Gather all of your tools and put your plan into action.

Don’t forget that the team here at Digital Nachos is here to help. We can be a part of your arsenal of tools to assist you with your review, your plans, and action anything needed to take your online appearance to the next level in the lead up to Christmas.
